CRAFT: Chevron Stamped Tee

I've gotten braver with making things for myself lately. It's kind of nice when I make something and get to keep it for myself (which really doesn't happen much), but I usually have the unfortunate tendency of being a clumsy crafter. Every project begins optimistically enough but by the time I'm getting close to being finished, I discover that I've managed to sew the thing inside out or I have a seam with holes in it, or it somehow has an extra sleeve or something. I haven't done that last one YET, but I'm anticipating the inevitable.

Take this shirt for example. Easy enough project, but I made the rookie mistake of forgetting to put cardboard inside my shirt so the paint wouldn't leak. As soon as I finished, I was really happy with the shirt....until I saw the blue paint splotches on the back. So of course, like any exhausted half-crazed crafter would do, I put straight bleach on the paint spots. Consequently, did you know straight bleach eats through clothing?

Me neither, until now that is.

In conclusion: make an awesome chevron stamped shirt with me, but please remember to put something inside of your shirt. And also don't put straight bleach on stuff. I hear it jacks clothing up ;)

Cut a sponge into your chevron shape. I Cut one larger and one skinnier piece.

Next use a ruler and disappearing ink marker to make straight lines on your shirt where your design will go. Put a piece of cardboard or freezer paper inside of your shirt to protect it from the paint leaking through, then begin stamping one color on. Let dry and stamp your second color on. Let your shirt dry according to the directions on the bottle.

Wasn't that so easy? Now wear and show off your awesomely awkward modeling poses. I'm working on that.
